Nancy Pelosi: More People Working Is Not Good For The Middle Class
Unemployment is down, take-home pay is rising, jobs are coming back to home and more Americans are working. That is the news from the May jobs report and Representative Nancy Pelosi couldn’t be angrier. And no, that is not a typo.
The 2018 mid-terms are approaching quickly, and Democrats are scrambling to overcome President Trump and his growing list of successes. Leading the charge is House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi who recently suggested that higher employment numbers are a bad thing.
On Friday, the new jobs report showed payrolls gained 223,000 in May and the unemployment rate hit an 18-year low of 3.8%. The news was so good in fact, that the New York Times “ran out of words” to praise it. However, the “Queen of Crumbs” didn’t quite feel so overjoyed.
“May’s jobs report shows that strong employment numbers mean little to the families hit with soaring new costs under the Republicans’ watch,” Pelosi said in a statement. “The President’s reckless policies are exploding gas prices, wiping out the few meager gains that some families should have received from the GOP tax scam, as wages remain stagnant.”
Now, keep in mind this is the same woman who claimed that the wage increases and $1000 bonuses resulting from the Trump tax plan, are “crumbs” for the middle-class. And, she is also the woman who called an Obama-era $40 payroll tax cut a “victory for the American people.”
The woman who wants to raise taxes on the middle class.
Pelosi And The So-Called “Blue Wave”…
It’s not hard to figure out why Pelosi is bashing this news.
One, it’s happening because of Trump and that sticks in her crawl.
But more importantly, she is downplaying the success because it’s bad for the mid-terms.
More specifically, it’s bad for her chances to once again be Speaker of the House.
Truth is, Democrats are watching their “blue wave” disappear. Despite Obama’s assertion that “jobs of the past aren’t coming back,” the economy is booming.
Turns out Trump does have a magic wand-it’s name is “leadership.”
Although, we can certainly understand why progressives don’t recognize it.
And let’s face it, nothing scares people like Nancy Pelosi more than having someone like Trump turn their welfare state into ash.
Because: welfare=votes for Democrats and jobs=votes for Trump.
Their only hope for victory in the mid-terms is to crush the American spirit.
Sadly, that was easy to accomplish in Obama’s America since nothing is more depressing than waiting for “hope and change” that never comes. Fortunately, the country is under new management. In the Trump-era, hope is renewed every day and the good changes are too many to keep up with.
It’s called “winning.”
