Everyone Wondered If Trump and Melania Would Bow to the Queen — Now We Know
There was plenty of media speculation about whether President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump would bow to Queen Elizabeth II during their U.K. visit on Friday.
Royal protocol dictates men should execute a “neck bow” when meeting the queen and women are expected to do a small curtsy.
However, President Trump opted for his trademark power handshake. Melania Trump snubbed the curtsy and chose the handshake as well.
Some people in the U.K. were offended that the presidential couple refused to bow or curtsy. Fortunately for America, we stopped caring what Britain thinks in about 1776.
Earlier in the day, Trump visited Prime Minister Theresa May at her residence in Chequers. One of the first things he did was sit in Winston Churchill's seat. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted an epic photo.
He also held a contentious joint press conference with May where he declared CNN "fake news" and refused to take a question from Jim Acosta.
