The View has been on the air for over 20 years but in recent years it has suffered from rating dips. That was until they started bringing more diverse voices onto the show. It continues to air on ABC as part of the primary daytime network programming block. The multi-generational panel of co-hosts has expanded more recently to include conservative voices. Now, another one is looking to be added. While conservative Meghan McCain has been the lone Republican, it appears she will be getting a friend sitting next to her on the show and very soon.
“Much like half of our fair country, the producers of The View are not pro-President Sexist-Egotistical-Lying-Hypocritical-Bigot. (I’m speaking of Dabney Colemen of course.) How do we know this? It’s because they’ve supplemented conservative host Meghan McCain (who loathes President Trump and the White House for constantly shitting on her father, Senator John McCain) with ANOTHER conservative host who happens to hate Trump. Her name is Abby Huntsman and, get this, she’s coming over from Fox News! Mediaite reports that Abby will join the show for its Season 22 premiere, replacing Sara Haines. The hiring of Huntsman comes in the wake of The View bidding adieu to both co-host Sara Haines (who with Michael Strahan will co-anchor Good Morning America‘s new, Chew-replacing third hour, GMA Day, starting Sept. 10) and part-time panelist Paula Faris (who left the talker in July).
ABC hasn’t verified Abby joining The View yet, but “sources” say she would be a welcome addition to the cast. During her stint at Fellatio for Trump headquarters FOX News, Abby served as the co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend and as a substitute host on Fox & Friends and America’s Newsroom. Prior to that, she worked at MSNBC and HuffPost Live. She’s the daughter of Jon Huntsman, the U.S. Ambassador to Russia. As for her more interesting qualifications for hosting on The View, Abby once “accidentally” referred to Trump as a “dictator” live on the air. And she had the temerity to tweet her disdain over POTUS’ handling of his insane meeting with topless Russian czar Vladimir Putin in Helsinki last month. In other View news, preparations for Abby’s arrival have included Joy Behar doubling down on her “loudly squawking over her co-hosts” voice training lessons. And Whoopi Goldberg is now smoking one additional blunt per morning in order to keep it chill around another interchangeable perky type babbling at her.”

“She joins right-leaning Meghan McCain, who regularly debates against left-leaning veteran stars Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg as well as co-star Sunny Hostin. Huntsman’s casting comes on the heels of the departures of panelist Sara Haines and part-time co-star Paula Faris from The View. “Abby has lots of fans at ABC and is expected to land at The View,” a source told E! News. ABC has not commented on the news. Huntsman will host Fox and Friends Weekend for the last time this Saturday and Sunday, spokesperson for the news network told E! News. Huntsman grew up in Utah and appeared as a political commentator for ABC News in 2012 during the presidential campaign of her father, a Republican leader and former Utah governor who currently serves as the U.S. Ambassador to Russia. She joined Fox News as a reporter in 2015.
Like McCain, whose father John McCain she supported in the 2008 elections, Huntsman is a supporter of LGBTQ rights, including same-s*x marriage—a cause most Republicans oppose. In June, Huntsman came under fire from Fox News viewers for accidentally referring on-air to the historic summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as a meeting of “two dictators.” She apologized for her words, which had spurred the hashtag #TwoDictators to trend on Twitter. Huntsman was directly critical of Trump after his meeting last month with Vladimir Putin, during which he appeared to shy away from criticizing the Russian leader over Moscow’s meddling in the 2016 U.S. elections. The U.S. President later said he misspoke. “No negotiation is worth throwing your own people and country under the bus,” Huntsman had tweeted.
Right-leaning Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure, who starred as panelist on The View between 2015 and 2016, told Fox News earlier this week that she had hoped a conservative star would be added to the panel. “I really hope that it is a conservative seat because I think it will balance out that table,” she said. “They need more than one conservative so I really hope it’s a conservative.””
Huntsman is the daughter of famous former Governor, former Ambassador to China under President Obama, and current Ambassador to Russia for President Trump, Jon Huntsman. She currently serves as a general assignment reporter for Fox News and helps to co-host Fox & Friends on the weekend. However, she formerly served as an MSNBC host. During her fathers 2012 presidential campaign, she served as a media adviser and surrogate on behalf of him. Accomplished in her own right, she has done work in the past with current View co-host Meghan McCain, and daughter of Senator John McCain.
